In today’s world it’s truly hard to find businesses that have truly great customer service.  All you ever hear about is how bad it is out there.  Take Walmart for example.  When was the last time you heard something good about them? So when I come across a place that has really outstanding customer service I try to share it with my friends, and this company is simply AMAZING!  The website is called https://www.zulily.com and I am so totally addicted them.  They offer some of the cutest things I’ve ever seen and right now they are pushing the Halloween stuff and lets just say Halloween is my favorite holiday!

The only really bad thing I can say about this company is sometimes it takes quite a while to get what you purchased, but that is only because they order it from somewhere else and have it shipped to their company first before sending it on to the buyer.  This way they can check and make sure it’s the right item and it’s in perfect condition.

I’ve had to contact them on 2 occasions so far.  The first time was when I ordered a red oil bottle for my kitchen.  When the product finally made it to my house it was broken. 😦  Well I emailed them and within 3 minutes they replied asking me to send them a picture of the broken product and the packaging.  I did so and within 20 minutes of the first email they had emailed me back saying to just throw the broken away and because they still the item in stock they would put another one in the mail for me the next day.  Now I know your probably thinking, what if they don’t have it in stock, then what Shanny?  Well.. let me tell you, you get a store credit added to your account immediately.  My next occasion was when I ordered a pair of super cute high top tennis shoe‘s for my daughter.  Well little did I know when I ordered them that her foot grew 2 1/2 sizes over this summer so sadly they did not fit.  So I emailed them again fully expecting to have to pay for shipping and handling to return them and hopefully be able to have them exchanged for the same thing.  Sadly though the company was out of stock on them BUT.. get this.. they told me to keep the shoe’s and if I didn’t have a family member who could use them to donate them to a worthy cause and credited my account for the full amount of the shoes!!!!  HOW FREAKING AMAZING IS THAT????

So, if you like to shop online.. send me your email address and I’ll send you a request for them.  Now, you don’t have too but they have a reward program and if you accept my request then purchase something I get a $20 store credit!!  it’s a win win situation, you get a request to a great site, I get a store credit AND you can then start inviting your friends who when they buy you’ll get the credit.  See.. Win Win!

I guess we aren’t suppose to be thankful anymore

We all saw the Christmas stuff going out for sale in September, it happens earlier and earlier every year.  Retailers think they could possibly make a buck if they put it out, and I understand their thinking.  I mean the economy has sucked royally for years and there have been A LOT of stores closing because they just couldn’t make it work but, seriously what has happened to Thanksgiving?

Lets look at the retail industries calendar shall we?

December 26, Christmas stuff is clearanced out and Valentines Day crap is put out.  As soon as February hits you see Easter bunnies beside the heart shaped boxes of candy.  By the end of Easter you usually start seeing American Flags and red, white and blue banners everywhere for July 4th.  Now’s when they hit the lull in sales, there is really no holiday so instead they gear up for BACK TO SCHOOL, even though it doesn’t start back for 2 months in some places.  We’ve made our way to the end of August beginning of September and BAM there’s Christmas stuff going up.  Within a week or two you now have Christmas stuff with Halloween stuff which leads us to November 1 where you find all the Halloween stuff 50% off and Christmas stuff taking over the prime real estate in the store.  I guarantee you will see the decorations hanging from the ceilings within a week and “Holiday Shopping Hours” will go into effect.  As November progresses you will start seeing commercials for the “Black Friday” sale then we are in full blown Christmas Frenzy!  Somewhere along the way the stores helped America to forget that at this time of year we should be Thankful for what we have and for our family and friends, but instead we are stressing ourselves out trying to figure out how we are going to have enough money to buy buy buy all that crap to fill up under the tree so we can keep up with the Jones’s ( I say fuck the Jones’s and the BMW they pulled up in) and never find time to be truly thankful for it.

I personally like to celebrate each holiday and enjoy them.  I decorate for each one at about 30 days out and leave up the decorations til the day after.  I see the fast pace world we live in and honestly, sometimes I wanna jump off it.  I want to stop and smell the pine tree’s at Christmas time, and enjoy each bite of wonderfully sinful chocolate at Valentines day and color the Easter Eggs with my kids and so on.  So I’m asking you all… don’t buy into the frenzy.. just stop..STOP THE MADNESS!!!  Celebrate Thanksgiving THEN Christmas!

It’s almost as good as really good sex!

I hate, HATE spending money on myself.  I will spend my last dollar on anyone else but will talk myself out of a $10 purse because I don’t really need to spend THAT kind of money on a purse (and if you know anything about purses you know your not gonna find a good one that cheap).  It’s a sickness really, one that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get over.  My husband has said it wouldn’t matter if we were millionaires I would still talk myself out of anything and everything if it cost more then a buck.  So on those occasions that I do buy something for myself I get even more super excited when I find it on sale, (I’ve taught my daughter the #1 rule of shopping..never ever pay full price for anything)  Today after work I met my husband at Target to pick up a few items we needed.  At first I was bummed that the nuts I have been buying were no longer on sale for $5 but my next finds completely made up for it.   We found some Halloween Oreo’s on sale for $1.49 a bag (usually they are $2.99) so yeah, we picked up 3 bags of them.  Next we found a $65 dollar winter coat on sale for $35 bucks for our son who really needed one (he put his winter coat from last year on the other day and his arms are about 5 inches too long now for it..lol) but.. the Pièce de résistance  was the boots I found clearanced out.

Super cute Mossimo Rocker style boots

Awesome Stone colored cowgirl boots, Mossimo also

Both pairs of boots were originally $34.99… but yours truly paid $10.98 a pair!  HOT DAMN…. OOo OOO OOOOO I think I just had a mini orgasm!  Two pairs of shoe’s for the LESS then price of one… oh hell yeah!
