Sir Michael Cain, best actor ever

Sir Michael Cain, what is there to say about this iconic actor?  Well, everything.  I love this man; I mean really, I love him.  I have had a crush on him for as long as I can remember.  Michael was born Maurice Joseph Micklewhite on March 14, 1933, (I gotta admit I like the name Michael better then Maurice).  He broke into acting in the 1950’s with a few unconfirmed and uncredited bit parts, a few TV shows until he got his first starring movie role in “The Ipcress File” in 1965.  Just look at that face, it was made for the big screen.  He was knighted in 2000 at the New Years Honours, “The New Year Honours is a part of the British honours system, where New Year’s Day, 1 January, is marked by naming new members of orders of chivalry and recipients of other official honours. A number of other Commonwealth Realms also mark this day in this way.” (wikipedia)

I will have to see this movie

I first fell in love with him when I caught a movie on HBO in 1984 called “Blame it on Rio” starring him of course and a not very well known Demi Moore.  This movie had everything I loved, (I just didn’t realize then it was things I loved..lol).  It had a romance between and older handsome man and a younger woman (I’ve always been into older men until I married a younger one 3 years ago) and lots of boobs!  I didn’t realize until I was much older that I was attracted to the female species just as much as the male!  That movie made me want to go to Rio De Janeiro so badly, but sadly it’s almost 30 yrs later and I’ve still not made it there.  What’s even worse is my butt headed boss went there last year and sent me a postcard from there and just got back from there yesterday!  Lucky bastard.

Oh that lucky lucky girl

Sir Michael has worked continuously since 1956, averaging 3 to 4 movies a year.  He’s worked every year except 1973, 1989 and 1991.  He was in the recently released “The Dark Knight Rises and I will say he stole the movie!  Him and him alone made the entire movie worth watching, at least for me.  The scene where he’s standing in front of Bruce Wayne’s parents graves and he’s apologizing for failing, OMG I almost cried.  If you know me then you know that is huge because I will chew holes into the inside of my mouth to keep from crying at any movie.

still good looking

According to IMDb (Internet Movie Database) Sir Michael already has a movie in post-production for 2013 called “Now you see me”.  It’s a thriller where a team of FBI agents track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money. (quoted from IMDb).  It also stars Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson and Mark Ruffalo to name a few.  I will be itching to see it when it comes out (no I don’t believe the Mayans predicted the end of the world correctly so I’m sure I’ll be around to see it if the Good Lord doesn’t call me home before then).

Can’t wait to see it

So more then 50 years in the spotlight and I have to say this man has aged gracefully.  I hope that father time doesn’t sneak up on him quickly and we get to enjoy his talents for years to come.  He is one of the most talented actors to ever come out of Hollywood.  He can play any part, comedic, tragic, villain it doesn’t matter as he tackles them all and pulls you into his character.  So Sir Michael Cain I’d like to tell you Thank you for the years of entertainment you’ve provided us.  I will be a fan of yours forever.  And on occasion I’ll watch “Blame it on Rio” and think, damn she was a lucky lucky girl!
