RIP Marilyn Monroe, who died 51 years ago today.
“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” ― Marilyn Monroe

You know… Marilyn was long gone by time I was born, but she was still a major icon even then. I remember watching her movies growing up and thinking how beautiful she was. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized it wasn’t her face that made her beautiful, it was her self confidence and poise. The fact that she knew she was beautiful no matter what her size, but still held that little girl insecurity inside. She was true to herself, so sad, and in fact very lonely in real life. Here it is 51 years after her death and she is still an icon of beauty. I wonder if she would have ever guessed she would have had such an impact on this culture.. that women everywhere would adore her as much as the men desired her.
Rest in peace Marilyn… Hopefully death brought you what you could not find in life… peace and happiness..
I think we have some similar tastes in actors!
Bugger it sent too early! Lol
I have heaps of Marilyn memorabilia. As I write this she is staring at me in that famous picture with her tutu on. And to the right of me looking down at the city. That’s just what’s in my room. Lol
Loved this post and we loved you, Marilyn!
